ABOUT THIS ROLE

Audible is seeking an innovative, analytical, and highly motivated media strategist to drive the strategy and implementation of our brand awareness campaigns in the UK. You will identify and execute media strategies to establish the brand's cultural relevance, driving consideration for Audible, its landmark content, and ultimately boosting subscriptions.

This role will be the key owner of content and brand media briefs in the UK, leading Audible's global media agency (Wavemaker) in London while ensuring alignment with adjacent teams such as Content, Brand, PR, Performance Media, and Legal. You will collaborate closely with the Analytics and Research teams to understand actionable market and consumer insights, refine media strategy, identify growth opportunities, and measure effectiveness.

ABOUT YOU

The Director of Awareness Media will develop strong relationships with creative counterparts to ensure seamless integration of creative and media efforts, driving the best possible outcomes. You will also be process-oriented, driving the business cadence to ensure timely spend approvals, allowing ample time to brief agencies, secure competitive rates, and deliver appropriate creative assets. You will oversee all brand awareness media channels, including but not limited to TV, VOD, Programmatic, Digital Audio, Out of Home, Digital channels such as OLV and social media, as well as local influencers.

In this role, you will catalyze a transformative shift in our brand awareness media strategy, collaborating with and inspiring internal teams and external agencies to think boldly, challenge conventions, and ultimately propel Audible's growth in the UK.

This position is a 14-month fixed-term contract.

As a Director, Awareness Media - UK, you will...

  • Collaborate with Audible's global media agency Wavemaker in London to develop and execute multichannel plans across the UK, fueling new member acquisition through elevated brand awareness and consideration

  • Drive awareness of and engagement with key content titles and new releases (originals and third-party)

  • Work closely with Performance and Analytics teams to understand the business impact of awareness media spend and ROI

  • Champion the use of internal and external analytical tools (incl. Brand Tracker and Media Mix Modeling) in full-funnel planning and strategic thinking

  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams (Content, Brand, PR, Legal, Finance) to enable seamless campaign planning and reporting

  • Collaborate closely with the larger European and international media teams (based in Berlin) to share best practices, ensure consistent European operations, and identify synergies

  • Develop a solid understanding of the local influencer landscape, working with our agency to craft local influencer strategies that establish the brand's cultural relevance

  • Monitor competitor media spends and campaigns.

  • Foster a positive and constructive relationship with the local Wavemaker team, allowing for two-way feedback and continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field of study

  • Experienced in creating, optimising and analysing multi-channel, full-funnel media plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the UK media landscape

  • Proven track record of driving innovation and identifying new opportunities in media

  • Extensive experience in managing sizable budgets and leading media agencies

  • Exceptional analytical skills and a strong focus on delivering measurable business outcomes

  • Substantial experience in creative, technology, or media and entertainment industries

  • Demonstrated experience working within large-scale international organizations
